I keep accidentally publishing posts on my other blog when I just want to save them. That's why my posts on there keep appearing and disappearing! It's getting annoying now!

So I have assigned reading for homework which I really don't want to do since this book is a bit boring. We should be allowed to read books in English literature which we can relate to. Not books about 40-something year olds who go on a journey or something.

Yeeesh! And I'm really tired now. I can't see the point in going to college anymore since I won't get into a top uni. Yep, might as well quit now. Oh well, there's always becoming a teacher. I would LOVE to be a teacher though and I certainly don't consider it to be a 'back-up'

Heatwaves are so not my thing.

I like the sunshine and heatwaves, when I'm either in a swimming pool or in an air-conditioned area. I hate it when I'm sitting in a classroom. You sweat buckets while having to do so much work your head hurts.

Records have been broken, meaning we just had the hottest day in September since record began. Funnily enough though, we're predicted snow during the next 4-8 weeks haha! I'm going to wait for the snow. And if we don't get it, then I'll cry.

In the meantime, I'll just try and cope. Some tips for coping with hot weather:
- Don't wear layers. They'll insulate you and you won't be able to cool down easily.
- Drink plenty of water. It'll stop you getting dehydrated and with a headache.
- Try and stay in the shade. It's hottest in direct sunlight.
- Avoid exercise. Try and stick to running outside in the morning or late in the evening.

I just don't have anything to write about.

College is pretty much taking over my life and university applications are giving me a headache.

The weather is great right now (it's sunny outside and pretty warm. About 10 degrees C higher than the average for this time of year) although the forecasters are warning us for snow as early as October. I love snow so this is great! But I hope it's enough to get me out of college. I don't like playing in snow. I just like sleeping in because I know college is closed haha!

Yeah I've had one for the past week which is pretty much why I didn't update. But I am better now!

I had to clean my room today and well, I have some tips.

1) Focus on one section until you move to another.
2) Keep hydrated.
3) Have a bin bag close to throw stuff you don't want away.
4) Clean your room every month to make sure it doesn't get too messy.

I've started reading I Am Number 4 which is okay but nothing impressive. I was hoping to be blown away unfortunately.

James Frey didn't even write this book. Well I've heard he exploits other writers.

If anyone knows any awesome books that are part of a series, I'll be happy for recommendations.

In other news, (I wouldn't call this news tbh), I'm trying to think of pen names. I used to have Kamille Leili Elahi but I want a different one. And I'm not really sure what I should choose. I found the name Nishika which I kinda like.

I'll have to research pen names. I might come up with a name where the initials spell something funny or something!

Finally finished my exams!

Wahay! So exam season has finally ended for me and I feel so relieved but now another monster comes running around the corner, ready to make my life as miserable for me as possible.

I have to go back to lessons.

Because of a group of geniuses, I know have to walk back into lessons and start the work for next year. Sorry for me asking but shouldn't next year's work be completed next year and not this year? I understand the heavy amount of work to complete means teachers like the extra time but I would've rather they give us a reading list and an essay title and give us longer holidays.

Anyway, due to my exams, I am now behind in History and English Literature and will fall farther behind when I attend university open days. Oh well.

Except, I can't catch up just yet because I have no idea what we've been doing in class and also, I have not had the time to ask teachers for the work. Oh wait, I did ask one teacher for the work but got no reply. Isn't that great? And my other teacher didn't even bother to tell me what work we had to do.

I guess I'll just read and make some notes. :(

Okay, I know I haven't updated in a long time and that my updates are really going down in quality (lol) but I am so busy these days that I can't really update.

So I have completed 6 exams so far and have 4 left to go. I am not really revising and will regret it on results day but whatever, that'll come later.

I swear I feel like someone has taken my brain out of me when I'm sleeping and has replaced it with soggy and mushy green peas. I can't think straight and I'm not even under the influence of any kind of substance. Unless Pepsi Max counts.

My writing is a nightmare. I've had so many potential ideas in the past 24 hours, I don't know if I should do my homework or write. It's such a difficult dilemma. I've also been dieting and exercising in the past few weeks to lose weight in a desperate attempt to be healthier. And it's so draining. Eat this. Don't eat that. Do this. Don't do that.

It's nearly 9 but I am so tired and I can't go to sleep until like, after 4 because I need to eat before I begin fasting.

My writing is great. In a way. You see, for me to write something decent, it has to be long hand and not typed so I am writing very slowly and have no idea what my word count is. Instead I'm having to rely on pages written.

I'm hoping I can finish this project quickly.

I'll type it all up on Word, print the document off and spend a year or two perfecting and editing while writing query letters (perfect ones hopefully) and then I'll ship this novel off to agents.

My really suckish attention span

You sit down and promise yourself you're going to write 1000 words but then ten minutes later, you're not even half way and you start thinking about another scene or about the crow outside your window (I know it's eerie but I have loads of them outsite! i think it's because of the tall trees at the front and then there's this huge tree in the back!!).

An hour later you come back to your story and start writing. But then you're hungry and want to eat. You order out some Chinese and eat while watching TV and when it's time to get to sleep, you remember you haven't finished writing and think "I'll write tomorrow"

The next day you get 10 words done. Hah!

The cycle just keeps on turning.

Ok now I really need to get back to my writing.

I've finished outlining!

After I dunno, two days, I've finally finished outlining project x. YES! I have 47 index cards now, graced with my beautiful handwriting (lol!) that tell me each and every scene.

Now I need to write each and every scene.

Soon I will have a full novel.

I will then take a break from the novel, write another. And then when my writing has improved I will come back to Project x, rewrite, work on some query letters and then send them off to agents!

Aah! This feeling of having accomplished something is a great one!

Outlining using index cards

I'm going to spend today forming an outline using index cards. I've never used this system before so I'm interested to see how it's going to work out.

Last night I realised there was no real conflict in my story so outlining is sort of required right now.

I've got to try and form a plot now and character building is needed. I'm thinking of creating character profiles although I don't know how it's going to work. Should I have a little folder for each character a bit like this ones doctors have?

Planning is fun sometimes but I'd rather write and since I can't write because my plot has fallen flat, I need to plan.

I'm also trying to teach myself to type using more fingers. Right now I type with my two index fingers and I'm trying to get my other finger involved now. Although I do use my right middle finger a lot (you know, the one you use to make rude hand gestures at idiots who overtake you and then slow down in front of you when driving bah!)

3rd time unlucky - in detail

I got the idea for the Slayer Chronicles back in 2007. I started writing and wrote 2 chapters and a summary. I then scrapped and started again to stop writing in 2008. Last year (2009) I started writing again. I thought I would fare better the 3rd time but once again I am stuck and this is very early in the story.

I am now rewriting and feel very down. I didn't expect to stop again. I've got my summaries and outline and thought I would be ok but now I've realised I haven't got what it takes to start again now.

The next problem is, I'm used to writing long hand, not on the computer and if I write long hand then I'll take at least a week for just one chapter.

I'm also (to be honest) annoyed with vampires right now. I love vampires but I'm finding them tiring right now. If you go into book shops you have a whole shelf devoted to awfully written teen vamp fiction. It's a headache.

Really.

I think I'm going to just blog on here and just work on the project I've been on for a while. I'll come back to the Slayer Chrons one day, maybe but right now, i can't say for sure that I'll carry on writing it.

My last haircut wasn't a good one and although it was fairly expensive (I got my hair cut from Rush. I am NEVER going back there again. Even if they cut my hair for free) the haircut was not great. I asked for a few layers but not too short and got a blunt cut which is not good because I have fairly thick hair (it used to be really thick but after 3 years of styling every day it's thinned badly).

So today I am going to wet my hair a little bit and put some layers in. This might take a while because I need to get some confidence in myself first. I don't actually trust myself. And if this turns out bad my mum might not be happy lol!

Now my hair is not very long. It comes down to just at my shoulders and so I can't use the trick where you give yourself a ponytail at the top of your head above your forehead and cut because my hair doesn't all get there.

Right now I am trying to find a method of cutting it so that it isn't difficult but will also look nice. I've stalked Youtube for half an hour but it's so hard to find a DECENT video that includes cutting your hair with SCISSORS and not fancy gadgets.

I'll update later when I've cut my hair. I'll include an after pic if I can be bothered.

I spent the whole year waiting for summer so I could finally write. But now that I am in Summer I don't have any time.
I've got to go to my Maths tutor which is just irritating. WHY DO I HAVE TO STUDY MATHS IN SUMMER?!?!?

Then from next week I'm going to be going to my Arabic tutor. Yay. NOT!

I'm a slow reader so it gets annoying when I have to read in Arabic. I read slowly in English so what makes anyone think I'm going to be able to read fast?!

All of this together, and I don't have time to write.

On Tuesday or Saturday, I might be going to a theme park with my family. Fun Fun Fun. At least the cousin of mine who really anonys me isn't going to be there.

And now I'm getting ready to go to a wedding. Oh joy.

I hate weddings.
Anyone else feel the same?

The brides are always miserable. The food is disgusting and usually I only know a few people at them so I get bored. And it's not the best thing to do in a wedding to take out a notebook and start writing. Sometimes I write on my phone (which is really hard because I am not a fast writer on my phone. It's complicated and I am always making errors)

Maybe if I pushed myself down a flight of stairs and 'sprained' my ankle I wouldn't have to go lol!

The past three chapters have been posted very quickly. And I'm on Chapter 8 right now.

It hasn't even been a week. I know I write fast but this is incredibly fast and I still have to go to college, although I am on a reduced timetable.

Now I'm going to be fairly busy over the following weeks what with homework, revising for a driving theory exam and job hunting (btw I HATE HAVING TO FIND A JOB!) so I can't post every day.

And the chapters are getting longer.

OK. So I can write 4 chapters a week at minimum and with some editing (not keen on this lol!). 3 seems like not enough and I like posting chapters up very quickly and I want to write faster than I post.

If I carry on going at this rate I'll finish writing the entire series in a month or two!

I should calm down.

Maybe 3 chapters a week is enough. It's not like I have a deadline or anything!

OK for those who don't know, I've been feeling like fucking shit for more than two years now and now I'm feeling like I'm in a shadow existence. I'm a zombie. I don't feel emotion as much as I used to. i talk like a zombie. I look like one and I feel like one.

College is getting me down and I don't have many friends around me these days. it's a pretty sad life. So that's why I haven't updated in a long time.
Right now I don't know what to do with my life. Nothing is fun anymore. Writing doesn't hold the joys it once had. I've got no reason to live as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know if i'm going to update this blog regurlarly and I'm thinking about deleting it. In a way it would be much easier but having a place to vent is something I feel I need.

I'll keep the blog for now but if I don't get back into writing on here at least once a fortnight, I'll just delete it.

A Writing Update: Sort of

My life has been a little chaotic for a while and I'm still in the sixth form college adjusting period. I think it's going to be a long one.

There hasn't been much for me to write in the past two weeks because there's been so much going on with college I haven't had a chance to sit down and write. I do think on the trains though! And the worst bit is I'm so exhausted from commuting these days that I have no energy to do my school work or worse, write.

I really want to drop out of college and just be a writer. Wouldn't life be so much easier that way? And then I wouldn't have to take thousands of nerve racking exams!

Back to writing updating, lol, I don't think I'll write much for now. Too busy. And tired. Moi hates college!

This is so hard to figure out. How do you change something to make it original? And is it original or plain weird?

Lets say someone was going to write a story about a slayer who falls in love with a vampire but also loves a guy who turns out to be a werewolf or something when does this plot turn into a Twilight-copy and when does it sound like Buffy? But when does it sound original?

It won't. Whatever you write will always sound like something else that has already been done. You could add as many twists as you like but it will still have the same story-base. Lets say I added this twist to my plot: what if the slayer was the last in a long line of slayers and the only way for the slayers to carry on was for her to take a risky move (which I won't reveal. I've been working on this story for two years)?

Would that twist make it original? Maybe but maybe not. The thing is, people will always focus on what they find to be similar or identical to what they are used to and that is what they have read before. If you came across a novel about an orphan boy who finds out he has magical powers, you would immediately connect it to Harry Potter because maybe chances are you have read a Harry Potter book before. ProjectX is the project I am currently working on. It's gone through many changes regarding plots and characters and settings. It started off very different from how it is now and I'm glad. I can now consider it unique due to a twist I added!

I've nearly finished the short story that I'm going to submit to a competition. It's at 850 words and now I have to do the final edit! I feel so teary. This is such a huge thing for me. The writing thing doesn't bother me but if something miraculous happens and I win, then I have to have a picture of me taken and I'm a little too shy. And also, this is the first time I've really reached such a goal.

Although, I can say that I'm published (that is if 50 words in a small book is considered published! haha!)

Well, here goes the final edit and then I'm going to submit it! *cries*

Uh, WHY do I always get ill during the holidays?????

abdominal pain with the feeling of having an upset stomach is not a good mix!!!!!

I wish doctors would be a little more accessible. It's hard being ill and not being able to see a doctor because my mum just thinks I'm a 'little under the weather' which by the way, doesn't make any sense because the weather is wonderful right now!!!!

And I really need to find a job right now but I can't seem to find any that I can do because I'm a little bit of a ditz! And I don't want a job that pays £2 per hour. And there is NO WAY I am ever going to work in a fast food restaurant! I still have my dignity and I would like for it to stay that way!

I think I'll go search the internet to find more job oppertunities (although I'm going to the walk in hospital some time this week to volunteer part time. I might do it tomorrow since I'm getting a blood test done there tomorrow anyway!)

I've just posted some thoughts on Wicked Karma.

And I'm in a great mood! Which is odd because I usually feel really run down. But I am tired.

I had a new story idea last night. The main concept of the novel is magic. In normal stories, magic is something people are born with but in this series, magic infects people. You get chosen by the virus and suddenly your life changes.

I'm going to be writing in Lacuna Soul much more often now. (If you listen to Lacuna Coil then you know where I got the name of my blog from!)

Um, I have started a new project. I didn't actually know where to set it. I did first set it in my hometown but now it's in a town nearby where I'll be going for college. It's really about two rival families. I might scrap it but I think I'll write some for the time being.

Word Counts

Whenever I ask someone what their word count is, I always have a heart attack. Why? Because I know it will take me a long time to get there. I am getting lazier and lazier. To be honest, I think I won't even have a complete novel in five years.

I think I need to come up with a way to get writng again. Because I really need it. I just write something and then stop and I go back to that novel many days later to find I forgot about it.

Plus side, Wicked Karma is soooooo bad. I haven't written anything!

I can't write. I start writing something and then I stop. I have so much work to do and I don't have enough time to write for at least ten minutes without stopping.

I'm sorry I took so long to update again, I was just busy forgetting my password! lol!

My new update is that I have started working on The Nightstalkers Series again. I stopped working on it a week ago. I can't believe I stopped.

I'm not working on NaNo anymore. I'm just going to try and get 5K for the Nightstalkers book by the end of November. I am also thinking about putting it up on Lulu when I'm finished but I think I might not because the Lulu prices and too high and I love my book too much to make people pay so much to read it.

Also, I'm not having much luck with Shattered. It's at a deadend. I think I will take a break with the BD series for the time and I will carry on with the Nightstalkers book.

And now I am off to make an informal blog about my daily ramblings. But I am still keeping my Livejournal.

Hi! I'm Kamille Halliwell. Not my real name if you were wondering.

I want to be a writer. I love writing. I just don't do much of it!

Right now I am meant to be writing my NaNo novel but I haven't actually done anything. I just don't feel like writing 50,000 words of shit and then scrapping it when November is over. Instead, I'm concentrating on Shattered, a vampire/werewolf/werecat novel. And another project I am absorbing myself in is The Bitch Bible or Gospel of the Bitches. I haven't chosen between the two yet. It's about a 19 year old working at a magazine in London. Although, I want to change the title since it isn't appropriate. Anyone else got a title?
